On August 27, a delegation from the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), including SOCAR Supervisory Board Member Israfil Mammadov and SOCAR Chairman Rovshan Najaf, visited the Central Platform Azeri operated by bp.

The purpose of the visit was to familiarize with current operations and processes and to discuss existing and future optimization opportunities for the Central Azeri platform which has been operational since 2005 and has a nominal processing capacity of 420,000 barrels of oil per day.

The delegation was briefed on the overall operating mechanism of the platform, ongoing operations, modern processing and security systems, as well as future plans.

As part of the visit, the delegation met Gary Jones, bp regional president for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, and representatives of the bp regional management team. During the meeting, Rovshan Najaf emphasized that the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli field will continue to make a valuable contribution to the development of the Azerbaijani and global oil industry.

The delegation then visited the gas and water injection turbines, export pumps, drilling area and other facilities on the platform.

During the visit, Operational Discipline Awards were presented to a group of platform personnel in recognition of their contribution to the safe and uninterrupted operations of the platform.
