Abilene, Texas – (Newsfile Corp. – Sept. 10, 2022) – The New River Electric Corporation recently completed work on an Ohio River crossing between Ohio and West Virginia. In this project, several tasks were performed on the 255-foot structure using Blade Platforms aerial work machines. This work was carried out by linemen in the basket of blade rigs with helicopter support.

The transmission superintendent on site praised the speed and efficiency of the 295-foot Ruthmann. The unit was operated on site by certified technicians and NREC linemen. This operated lease also allowed NREC to avoid some additional insurance costs. Independent site safety personnel have also rated the quality and safe operation of this overhead lifting equipment. They talked about the safer operation of the basket-operated machine compared to typical crane- or boom-mounted baskets.
