On Tuesday, President Draupadi Murmu will officially inaugurate a start-up platform for women entrepreneurs developed by the University of Gujarat in Ahmedabad. At a ceremony at the University of Gujarat on the second day of her two-day tour, the President will also launch the new initiative and lay the foundation stone for several projects focusing on education and tribal development. A university project for women entrepreneurs is called Her Start.

Murmu is on her first visit to Gujarat after becoming president. On Monday, she inaugurated and laid foundation stones for projects worth ₹1,330 crore at a reception in Gandhinagar. She also offered a floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and spun the charkha at Sabarmati Ashram.

President Draupadi Murmu expressed confidence that the projects being inaugurated and for which the foundation stones were laid today will create new jobs and business opportunities for farmers and entrepreneurs.

Speaking on the occasion, the President said, “The people of Gujarat have a culture of enterprise and innovation. Gujarat entrepreneurs have given a special identity to Gujarat and India. Gujarat is one of the leading states in the country in terms of development.
