Work on the reconstruction of the Umid-1 platform on the Umid-Babek block in Azerbaijan is nearing completion, reports Trend via the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).
According to the company, the main goal of the project “Accelerating production from the stationary offshore platform “Umid-1″” is to remove restrictions on transportation from the platform and increase production by drilling new wells.
“Given the restrictions, three million cubic meters of gas and 470 tonnes (3,600 barrels) of condensate are produced daily on the ground and are transported through SOCAR’s technology system to the Dashgil terminal,” the company said. . “As a result of the implementation of the above project, it is planned to increase the daily production of gas to 8.1 million cubic meters, and condensate – up to 1,200 tons (9,000 barrels).
According to SOCAR, as part of the project, the reconstruction of the platform itself, the construction of a 54-kilometre 20-inch (500 mm) undersea pipeline and its land section with a length of almost of 3.7 kilometers, a gas pipeline from the Dashgil-2 terminal and the construction at the head of Sangachal of the installation of a connection point to the SOCAR gas transport network are carried out.
“Currently, the work carried out on the Umid-1 platform and on land is nearing completion. The construction of the underwater pipeline using the pipelaying vessel Israfil Huseynov began in April this year The construction of the most complicated section of this 2.1 kilometer long gas pipeline, located closer to the earth,” the company added.
