Designed as a vintage speaker/radio, the Trenbader Artlink has a twist on its otherwise retro design…it essentially sports a blank canvas that you can draw artwork on, effectively customizing the speaker to suit your sensibilities. !
The Artlink is a pretty wonderful example of emotional design done right. Just as you grow attached to IKEA products because you put your own effort and sweat into building them, the Trenbader Artlink is the kind of audio device you fall in love with because you put a bit of yourself into it by making music. art on his speaker cloth. ! The speaker sports a design strongly reminiscent of Marshall and Fender style amps, with a cubic wooden exterior cabinet, chrome knobs, and even a retro-style glossy beveled logo in the lower right corner. The rest of the speaker, or at least the front of it, is an empty countertop that you designed to be customized. The fabric on the front is absorbent and you can use any type of drawing pen or marker on it (as long as it’s not oil-based) to paint abstract artwork on it, transforming the wireless speaker into a bespoke work of art… an actual NFT, if you will.
The Trenbader Artlink is a beautiful vintage-style wireless Bluetooth speaker that also comes with a built-in radio. Inside, the Artlink sports a full-range transducer as well as a high-quality passive subwoofer, all encased in a wooden cabinet that delivers rich, distortion-free sound with crisp highs and deep lows. Two knurled buttons on the top let you switch between modes (Bluetooth, Aux, AM, FM, Mic and Off) and control volume, while a third dial on the left lets you adjust the frequency on the radio AM/FM. The speaker comes with Bluetooth 4.0 which allows connections up to 33 feet away, and if you’re in the mood for wired, there’s an Aux input too.
The highlight of the Trenbader Artlink, however, is its customizable faceplate. The fabric of the speaker rests on a removable faceplate that can be customized and even swapped out to change the aesthetics of the speaker! Each speaker comes with an additional faceplate, giving you two canvases to complete your artwork, as well as step-by-step instructions to show you how to customize your speaker canvas using a variety of painting techniques ranging from coloring with a marker to brushing, sponging, and more.
Designed to be portable while still being powerful enough to pack a punch, the Artlink comes with over 12 hours of battery life on a full charge. It charges via MicroUSB (there’s a cable inside the box), and each Trenbader Artlink also comes with its own faceplate removal tool, allowing you to swap out the faceplate and effectively change the full speaker ambience when you feel like it!
